Real By Reel were formed after Playground Heroes were disbanded. The first line-up was Murray Torkildsen, guitar/vocals, Tim Boulton, drums, Mark Adnitt, guitar and vocals and Peter Noone on bass. Austin Stack replaced Peter on bass soon after first demo was made. Version three was to become the "classic" Real By Reel line-up. Austin, Murray and Tim were to become one of the biggest bands in Harlow at the time. They were often to be joined by Matt Randall on keyboards. Drummers, Grant Bowden, Jim Kimberly and Andy Maxwell were in later line-ups. Split at the end of the 80's |

Respect were Clifford Page, bass, Andy Cleall, guitar and vocals, Jo Sullivan, vocals, BB Weston, percussion, Keith Brown, drums and Matt Randall on keys. They recruited Neil McLeay on second guitar and Alan Mead on drums after Matt and Keith left the band. Alan was then replaced by Keith again before Alan replaced Keith. Again. The final line-up saw Rod Lambert on vocal duties.

Riotous Assembly were formed between The Wild West and Austins Shirts sometime in the early 80's. They were Gary Noone, guitar and vocals, Richard Holgarth on guitars and vocals, Nick French on drums, Martin Wheeldon on bass and Mark Thomas on guitar. This was essentially the line-up of the first Austins Shirts. |

Risque were Billy Holmes on guitar and vocals, Charlie Hanrahan on drums, Gary Drake on guitar and Steve Lawrie on bass. Charlie left to be replaced by Alan Mead in 1986/7 They entered the 1986 Rock competition and reached the finals. They entered in 1987 but this time around they failed to reach finals. |

Roman Holliday were a mid 80's Harlow band that charted a couple of times. Roman Holliday were Brian Bonhomme, guitar and vocals, Simon Cohen on drums, Robert Lambert on saxaphone, Steve Lambert on guitar and vocals and Peter Noone on bass. Their single "Don't Try To Stop It" reached number 14 in the charts in 1983. It reached 63 in the US charts. Still big in Japan they still do the odd gig. |
