Beach Party were formed around 1983 or 4 and were Lee Jennings, guitar, Lee Ellaway, bass, Trevor Mulholland, synth, Chris Beckett, guitar, and, Paul Monk on drums. They released a three song tape, "Girl To Nowhere", "Black-White", and "Second Chance". This line-up was to change their name and become The Advocates in 1985 entering The Rock Contest the same year. |

Blind Testament stormed to the final of The Rock Contest in 1985 and won convincingly with their brand of heavy industrial rock. Blind Testament started out as a duo featuring Martin Lee on guitar and vocals and Garry "Tetley" Taylor on keyboards and vocals. They were soon augmented by Isaac Prevost on drums before Woody took over the drum seat. Eventually Tetley left to join 3D Echo and Blind Testament split up. |

Blue Murder were a rock band that reached the Rock Contest Final in 1984 where they were runners-up. They were formed from the ashes of OPM and consisted of Andy Jessup, keyboards, Martin Noone, guitar, Chris Banford, guitars, Peter Noone, bass and Alan Mead on drums. By 1985 this line-up had changed their name to Heartland. |

Blues Before Sunrise formed around 1967 and were, Jeff Carpenter, guitar, John "Culley" Culleton, bass, Bruce Trotter, vocals, and John Glasgow on drums. In 1968 Jeff and John left to be replaced by Brian Wren on drums and Gypie Mayo on guitar and vocals. They quickly changed their name to White Mule. Jeff later played with Sheena Easton on her early hits and albums. |

Frank Ryan, Nigel Birchmore, Glynn Dwyer, Steve Tozer and Gary Hunt were collectively known as Boys Ordinaire. They formed around 1982 and entered the Harlow Rock competition in 1983 and went on to win the competition that year. They re-entered the following year but failed to make the final and called it a day. |

Burn became one of Harlows best rock bands in the 70's by working hard and playing gigs all over Europe. The first line-up was Ian Pack, guitar, Garry Burns, bass, Phil Bricks, drums, John Cleall, guitar and John McConnachie on vocals. They became best known as a four piece after John McConnachie left and Ian took over vocal duties. |
